Building the Light Matrix

Step-cut sapphires.
Trapezoids. Baguettes.
Edge to edge.

A central Asscher-cut sapphire.
Round diamonds, tracing the borders.

Not decoration.
Step cuts return light
in flat, architectural planes —
a built structure,
not scattered sparkle.

Why the Center Had to Be Asscher

Stepped facets.
Near-square proportions.

Stable. Grounded.
The star at the center of a mapped sky.

Trapezoids, widening outward —
expansion, without losing discipline.
