The Five Spaces: A Framework, Not Just a Theme
Where This Framework Began
For a long time,
I thought life was made of many separate parts —
emotion, mind, body, nature, universe.
I tried to understand each one separately,
like organizing drawers.
But I noticed
the moments that truly moved me
all seemed to come from the same place.
Looking at an emerald.
Looking up at the night sky.
Designing a piece.
Time seemed to stop, each time.
No answer, in those moments.
No achievement.
I simply returned,
suddenly,
to the present.
Later I began to understand:
Nature, Mind, Emotion, Body, Universe —
maybe not five separate spaces.
Five branches of the same tree.
The trunk
has always been the same thing.
That thing is Presence.
Nature is one road to presence.
Emotion, one road.
Mind, one road.
Body, one road.
Universe, too.
Everyone enters through a different door.
Some find it in the forest.
Some, in music.
Some, in love.
For me, most often —
gemstones.
When light passes through crystal.
When color moves slowly.
When time, briefly, goes quiet.
So P&S was never only about jewelry.
It's a map of life:
five spaces, one life,
many doors, one home.
Five Spaces. One Presence.
Many Doors. One Home.
Why a Framework, Not Just a Theme
A theme describes one collection.
A framework describes
a relationship between collections —
how they differ, and why it matters.
One question, at the start:
if jewelry accompanies a life,
what registers of experience
does it need to speak to?
Five, distinct. Connected.
Emotion, Mind, Body, Nature, Universe
Emotion Space — Rainbow Heart.
Direct color. Feeling, made visible.
Mind Space — Infinity Duo.
Relational awareness.
Opposites, held without resolution.
Body Space — Aura Field.
Structure, in relation to presence.
Support. Boundary. Containment.
Nature Space — Pure Bloom, Forest Light, Inner Bloom.
Organic growth. Material formation.
Universe Space — Galaxy Light, Galaxy Orbit, Sky Watcher.
The furthest register.
Scale. Motion. Light beyond experience.
Presence as the Connective Thread
Not a shared aesthetic.
The collections look different.
A shared philosophy —
structure, as guardianship.
Holding, not simply displaying.
Each space, the same question,
in a different register:
how does structure
create presence here?
Why Five, and Why These Five
Other divisions, considered.
Material. Occasion. Geography.
Each, eventually, too reductive —
tied to something external,
not to experience itself.
Emotion to universe —
an arc, from immediate
to vast.
Broad enough
to keep growing.
A Framework, Still Being Built
Not closed.
New collections,
still developing
within each space.
Less a finished map.
More a compass.
For each new piece —
which space does it belong to?
What does that space require?
Return to This Moment
I think of this, sometimes:
life is not only productivity.
Not only a goal.
Not only efficiency.
Life is also about seeing.
About feeling.
About being.
So, once more:
P&S was never only about jewelry.
It's more like a map of life.
Not telling you which road to take.
Only reminding you —
wherever you start from,
you can always return to the same place.
